United Macedonians Mission Statement

Therefore, The United Macedonians has embarked on the following mission:

1. To work for the national unity of Macedonians worldwide, regardless of their religious beliefs, political opinions or affiliations;
2. To raise the national consciousness and pride of all ethnic Macedonians;
3. To work for the attainment of National and Human Rights of all Macedonians, especially those living in the occupied territories of Macedonia;
4. To promote good public relations with all peoples and governments who support the national independence and development of Macedonia;
5. To work towards a full international acceptance of the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name, and for a greater well being for all its citizens;
6. To work towards easier integration of Macedonians in their countries of residence; and
7. To help all Macedonians achieve their utmost in their chosen fields, and thus help society as a whole.

United Macedonians Goals Based on Mission Statement

1. In order to achieve the national unity of Macedonians worldwide, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Establish United Macedonians chapters where ever there are groups of Macedonians that support the United Macedonians Mission;
   b) Establish membership at large, where ever there are not large groups of Macedonians;
   c) Establish and maintain close contacts with all Macedonian Organizations that support our Mission Statement;
   d) Work towards national awakening of all ethnic Macedonians that have fallen victims to foreign propagandas and interests.
   e) Work towards a "United Macedonia in United Europe".

2. In order to raise the national consciousness and pride of all ethnic Macedonians, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Organize an intensive educational program that will endeavour to acquaint and familiarize all Macedonians with their national history, language, culture and traditions of their homeland, Macedonia;
   b) Spread the truth about Macedonia and the Macedonians through the newspaper Macedonian Herald, different books and flyers, web site on the Internet, contacts with Macedonians and non Macedonians from all walks of life;
   c) Increase the involvement of the Macedonian youth by organizing youth camps, seminars and different other youth activities.

3. In order to work for the attainment of National and Human Rights of all Macedonians, especially those living in the occupied territories of Macedonia, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Lobby all foreign governments, international organizations, NGO's and influential individuals to support the legitimate national and human rights of all Macedonians, especially those living in the occupied territories, as guarantied by the UN Charter, the OSCE documents, the Framework Convention for minority rights and other international human rights documents;
   b) Participate in international conferences in order to present the Macedonian side;
   c) Establish close contacts with individual Macedonians and their Organizations everywhere;
   d) Give moral and material support to oppressed Macedonians everywhere.

4. In order to promote good public relations with all peoples and governments who support the national independence and development of Macedonia, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Maintain contacts with other ethnic groups, government representatives and individuals who recognize and respect the distinct Macedonian nation, language , culture and history;
   b) Get involved in the just activities of other oppressed nations, peoples, minorities and ethnic groups.

5. In order to work towards a full international acceptance of the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name, and for a greater well being for all its citizens, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Lobby all governments of the world to recognize the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name, because the name Macedonia has been used by the Macedonian people for thousands of years;
   b) Promote the good name of all Macedonians, by promoting the fact that the name Macedonia can only be synonymous with the people who are nationally determined as Macedonians;
   c) Promote good economic relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the countries with Macedonian immigrants.

6. In order to work towards easier integration of Macedonians in their countries of residence, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Establish social services with the aim of helping Macedonians become productive members of society, be they young, middle aged or seniors.

7. In order to help all Macedonians achieve their utmost in their chosen fields, and thus help society as a whole, the United Macedonians will:
   a) Organize and help various educational, cultural, academic and sports groups, associations and leagues so that Macedonian youth and adults can interact and expand the wealth of knowledge in their chosen field and occupation;
   b) Encourage and help all Macedonian youth achieve their highest potentials by awarding scholarships and prizes for high achievement.
